"Unholy Grave Review: Unholy Grave is Unholy Grave, they continue to deliver their own brand of raw and wildly energic, gutsy grindcore, filled with rage, crusty goodness, genius simplicity, infectious groove and above all true sense of fun. As always it also comes with a totally fitting, quite harsh, but really nice and raw sound production! Out-of-whack low guttural roars and high shrieking madness, some insanely catchy grindcore riffs and really slick grinding drumming (with a definite touch of crust too). Quite a lot of catchy short songs (most of em clocking around 1 minute, rarely reaching 2 minutes). And as usual, message lyrics, sometimes really obvious like "Terrorism Sucks" or "Terrorist Must Die"!!! I love that stuff... Straightforward grindcore like that is always refreshing to hear...
Anarchus Review: Very effective, turbulent, thrashing mexican grind with superb bass distortion, merciless guitar riffing, and totally unique vocals: extremely aggressive, almost demonic sounding, midrange shrieking vociferations. I found this band's stuff to be really intense and gripping. The sound is quite heavy but also has a really rough vibe that I absolutely love! Pretty neat packaging layout, two one-of-a-kind grind bands and simply a killer split release in my eyes..."

Unholy Grave this is pretty much what i expected, great music. Deffinately more of thier heavier stuff from the vocals to the riffs and the overall mix, very minimal clean voices, very grindcore. Bureied Terror is redone, and now there is terror after terror (Kim after Kim#2). The tempo changes a fair bit but the riffs are of course simple. The vocals are low growls and high screams, both are used alot, also as usual there are some wacky high japanese laughs and yells, though, there just werent as many as i had hoped for, but sometimes in older they were too whiney and high anyway. I really like this band, I made a webpage awhile back about them even, actually putting that much time into a site about them while doing 2 other band sites as well as this zine should show how good i think they are. The bands they have split albums with are numerous Agathocles (Belgium), Rotten Sound (Finland) Warsore (Australia), Malignant Tumour, Dropdead (USA), Embalming Theatre (Switzerland), Krush (Canada), and more! theres a bunch of thier own 7''s lp's and cd's Fuck!
Anarchus would you believe these guys have ben around since 1987? I have just heard them on this release and they fuckin rock. I bought this CD because its a Unholy Grave split but i'm more impressed by the Anarchus half, maybe because i've heard so much U.G.. The guys have a unique vocal which is squacky and rough high always and a great low backup that i wish were mixed just a bit louder. The riffs are catchy heavy and fast drums have nice presence, the sound and production are both very good, the band has cool song structures also with some cool breaks where the bass or guitars will just play with drums and the bass will kick back into full sound, the bass is super fuzzy and has some little solo'ish breaks as well. Overall this is fast paced Grindcore except a midpaced instrumental. There are no intro's nor any songs I would say arent good, great release overall but Anarchus shines in my own opinion. Other bands Anarchus have split albums with include Ak-47 (Mexico), Monastary (Holland) CSSO (Japan)"

"Ainda bem que existe a 2+2=5! Se não, quem seria louco de continuar apostando nas bandas mais dementes do grind nessa época que todo mundo só quer saber de Black Metal bonitinho? A gravadora vem apavorando tanto nos seus lançamentos nacionais como nos gringos, como esse split dos japoneses do Unholy Grave com os chicanos do Anarchus. As duas bandas são realmente insanas, mas eu curto mais o estilo do Anarchus, que tem uma parada meio thrash no meio e é bem original, que terror! Já o Unholy Grave faz mais aquela linha do começo do Grind, masi toscão e direto! Bem fudido também, do jeito que o grind tem que ser! Agora vamos esperar o próximo lançamento demente da 2+2, isso se não ficarmos surdos com esse split!!" (GO)

"A 2+2=5, sem dó nem piedade, vem através desse split nos bombardear com dois caóticos e veteranos nomes da cena grindcore mundial! Juntando o ocidente e o oriente para mostrar ao mundo o que vem a ser, de fato, o verdadeiro espetáculo humano, temos aqui o lendário ANARCHUS do México e a devastação nipônica do UNHOLY GRAVE!!! Quem dá início a esse trabalho é o UG. Formado por Tee (guitarra), Kaz (bateria), Yash (baixo) e Takaho (vocais), eles vêm com um repertório na mais tradicional linha do grindcore abordando exaustivamente o terrorismo em suas letras. Só para dar uma idéia, das onze músicas seis mencionam em seus títulos a palavra "terror" ou "terrorism". Tire suas próprias conclusões: "Selfish Insanity", "Scum Bag #2", "Buried Terror", "Stench Of Politics", "Terrorist Must Die", "Terrorism Sucks #2", "Overprotected Law", "Our Commom Slogan #2", "Orphaned By Terror", "Terror After Terror" e "Slaughter Behind Terrorism (outro)". Se não soubesse que o UG é uma banda japonesa, eu diria com toda certeza que seria dos EUA, mais especificamente de Nova Iorque... Em sua música temos riffs muito interesantes e uma cozinha (baixo-bateria) esmagadora além de um vocal totalmente insano... junte tudo isso e o que temos é uma verdadeira máquina de devastação!!! Terminada essa sessão de massacres vem o ANARCHUS. Se você acompanha a cena grindcore, então com certeza já deve conhecê-los. Esse grupo foi formado no México em 87 e ao longo de sua existência tem trazido à luz inúmeros lançamentos entre 7"eps, demos, cds, etc. e tocado ao lado de grandes nomes do underground mundial tais como SADISTIC INTENT, NOCTURNUS, NAPALM DEATH, EXODUS, MASTER, INCANTATION, DARK ANGEL e SODOM. Aqui nesse trabalho a formação é composta por Panchus (vocal), Thrasher (guitarra e baixo) e Fer (bateria) que nos submetem a dez atos de devastação e de contundente realidade através de músicas como "Pieces of Puzzle", "They Laugh", "Graveyard Peace", "Not For Me", "Conditioned", "Strong One Drug", "No Fear To Sin (Part II), "Factory Of Lies", "The Truth", "Global Enslavery" e "Going To Angka Loeu". "Esse disco é uam verdadeira aula de Grindcore, com duas bandas que representam a nata do estilo, com sonoridades calcadas nos primórdios do barulho. O Unholy Grave vem do Japão e é uma verdadeira lenda do estilo, com uma discografia tão extensa que pode ser comparada ao Agathocles e ao nosso Rot. O principal tema do grupo é o terrorismo e a batalha contra a intolerância, levantando a bandeira do 'Grindcore Contra o Racismo'., manifesto aprovado por este que lhes escreve. "Certas bandas possuem trajetórias bastante extensas nas costas, mas, mesmo assim, ainda permanecem relegadas à obscuridade do underground. Neste ambiente, contudo, alguns destes ilustres desconhecidos são quase legendários. Temos neste split -CD dois casos exemplares. O Unholy Grave é uma banda grindcore japonesa que há muito vem agredindo ouvidos indefesos com sua música crua, direta e extrema. Na verdade, o conjunto faz um som bem 'old school', ou seja, importa nele muito mais a atitude e a pujança com que é executado do que exatamente a porradaria. Não que estejamos diante de uma banda acessível, mas seu som é basicamente punk, sendo os vocais e as levadas caóticas o que de fato aproximam-no do grindcore. E é bom pra caramba, como se pode inferir nas onze faixas de sua autoria contidas aqui. Por sua vez, o Anarchus é mexicano e faz um som bem mais extremo e furioso. Já contabilizando quinze anos de carreira, o grupo dá msotras inequívocas de que o tempo não refreou seus instintos mórbidos e nas onze faixas que lhe cabem percebemos que a rispidez do seu grindcore continua intacta. Se o Unholy Grave possui um certo acento punk, o material do Anarchus é bem mais "metalizado", o que o aproxima do Napalm Death antigo - sem que, obviamente, se possa considerá-lo uma cópia. "I'm into music, not politics, and Unholy Grave play some great fucking music on this and that's all that matters. In fact, Unholy Grave sound at their best, the vocals are kept to screams and growls, nothing wacky which has sometimes spoilt their material in the past. 'Stench of Politics' is the best tune for sure, there's nothing like a slow dirty crushing slab of grind to beat women to. Although I'm sure they wouldn't be very supportive of that. Anarchus sound equally as fun playing with both slow and fast bits, sounding like Blood in some ways except with vocals which sound like he's gargling with bleach. I'm not sure if it's my shit speakers but one of them fell over while listening to Anarchus beacuse of the amount of rumble from the bass. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, because it means they're heavy as fuck, it just also means I need new speakers. Nothing ground-breaking as you could imagine but if you're a fan of either of these bands then I'm sure you already own this."
